Works and short interview with Prague-based Slovak artist Svetlana Fialová.

Where are you from originally?
Košice in Slovakia.

What type of medium do you work with?
Drawing, painting, prints - in particular linocut that I do not press but instead I combine the original matrix with colour and exhibit this as a completed painting.

Why did you choose this type of medium in particular?
I like the drawing-like method of representation as well as working with material that is resistant and that I can prod at.

What inspires you?
Artists Charles Burns and Lucas Soi. Also the Košice band Kolowrat, horror movies, Youtube, tabloid, strange things and people around me that I observe.
 
What are your plans for 2010?
To finish school in June and go abroad.
