Listening to the East: an exploration of up-and-coming independent Eastern European arts and music scenes. The project aims to explore the latest happenings in experimental music and arts in several east European countries, including Slovakia, Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia, Poland and Hungary.
The audio travelogue will include interviews with the musicians as well as art activist and independent cultural spaces, as well as field recordings. The resulting audio programmes will be broadcast on London-based radio Resonance FM starting in September 2010. A series of concerts with selected artists will take place in November-December 2010 in Slovakia and a music compilation will be released by the Audiotong label.
